JYZ Design recently had the opportunity to create a new website for Calgary District Heating (CDHI), a thermal energy company leading Calgary’s low-carbon energy transition through centralized, and highly-efficient, thermal energy production.
Effective Communication
As a leader in green technology, CDHI needed a website that could effectively communicate its operations and applications while facilitating a conversation. Using our experience developing industry-specific websites, we aimed to create an online platform that encouraged engagement and interest and got Calgarians excited about a greener future.
UI/UX Techniques
The new website features effective UI/UX techniques and carefully considered design features that function to effectively communicate CDHI’s goals and technical functions to visitors. Interactive graphics and a visually striking map of buildings connected to CDHI’s pipeline network in Calgary create a visualization of their tangible community impact. Heavy reliance was placed on graphic design elements, including graphics representing recognizable buildings in Calgary’s downtown. These graphics combined with other icons and visuals function to create a seamless understanding of CDHI’s business and benefits.
Effective copywriting demystifies operations and facilitates community engagement, supporting an effective website journey that takes visitors through the company’s mission.
